  • Summary

Cardiff Volunteering is seeking new Trustees to join our Board and enhance its current membership. We are looking to appoint two exceptional individuals who will bring enthusiasm and commitment, as well as skills and experience in the charitable, legal and / or financial field to our Board.

    Employer Profile

Cardiff Volunteering is a vibrant, exciting and rapidly developing charity with a very bright future. We are now in our second year of operation as a Charity and going from strength to strength so there has never been a better time to get involved! Cardiff Volunteering was set up by the Students’ Union in August 2015 to provide a volunteering service for all Cardiff University students. We enable our students to undertake enriching, interesting, and fun projects which directly benefit the local community. Our Board of Trustees meet quarterly over the academic year to discuss important decisions about our core values, mission statement and charity objectives.

You will share responsibility for the Charity’s good governance and contribute to the future direction of Cardiff Volunteering.

    Job Role

You will share our strategic vision, business sense, and passion for improving the lives of students and the community through volunteering.

Trustees play an active role in governing the Charity and are responsible for setting vision, strategic priorities and for ensuring that the Charity complies with legal, charitable and financial requirements.

Although knowledge of the Higher Education sector is not essential, the ideal candidate will display a keen interest in both volunteering and higher education and share our organisational values. An understanding of the duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship is essential.

We are particularly looking for individuals with knowledge and / or experience in the charitable, legal or financial sectors. Diversity is important to us and we encourage applicants from various backgrounds with different experiences, skill and stories to join us.

    Additional Information

The Board meets in Cardiff University Students’ Union quarterly, usually in June, September, December and March.
