  • Summary

    Following an internal move we are now recruiting a Country Director for Wales. This role will provide leadership for a multi-disciplined team of staff and will be the lead ambassador representing the charity and raising the profile of our work in Wales.

    Job Role

    You will give leadership and direction to our work to influence policy and service improvement, working with and alongside local and national politicians, health and social care providers and existing and potential partners. You will also be responsible for developing and managing the annual plan and budget for Wales, and contribute to effective fundraising to sustain and develop our work.

    It’s key that you have a passion for involving people with Parkinson’s in all aspects of our work.

    To be successful, you will be a skilled communicator and a strategic thinker able to translate ideas and concepts into projects and plans. You will have a good understanding of the political context of health and social care policy, the health service in Wales and experience of successfully working with the National Assembly and the Welsh Government.

    You will be a proven leader who can empower and inspire staff and volunteers to give their best. You will have an awareness of current issues surrounding disability, particularly in the field of neurological conditions and knowledge of relevant health and social care structures in both the statutory and voluntary sectors. A good understanding of local media is essential, preferably with experience as a confident spokesperson.

    You must be flexible with your daily schedule and be able and willing to travel around the country without reliance on public transport and willing to travel around the UK as required for the role. The position will be based from your home and you must live within Wales.
