    Employer Profile

Tai Pawb is the leading national expert organisation promoting equality and diversity in housing. We influence policy, support organisations and raise awareness of equality and diversity issues and solutions and...we absolutely love what we do. We inspire people to embrace equality and diversity. Tai Pawb is ambitious, dynamic, innovative and genuinely passionate. Our partners, RLA, have been a leading voice for private sector landlords since 1998.

    Job Role

Open Doors project is a two year Big Lottery Funded project which will be delivered by Tai Pawb in partnership with the Residential Landlords Association (RLA). The project will empower tenants from minority and underrepresented groups and landlords/letting agents in the private rented sector to act in order to prevent and reduce discrimination and mistreatment in the sector. The project will support, advise on and raise awareness of key rights, responsibilities and solutions amongst private tenants from diverse groups, such as migrants, LGBT or disabled tenants, who are a greater risk of experiencing specific tenancy issues. At the same time, with the help from RLA, Open Doors will work with private landlords and letting agents, to improve their capacity to deal with issues related to equality and diversity.

We are looking for someone genuinely passionate about equality, diversity and social justice as well as involving and working collaboratively with diverse communities like BME people, disabled people, LGBT people, people with mental health problems and others. You will be responsible for developing and running Open Doors’ tenant activities. You will be highly creative, able to use social media and to think outside the box to confidently engage people who may have communication needs. You will be able to develop fresh and exciting ideas to engage and assist tenants within the Open Doors and empower them to actively support others. It is important to us that you are a natural collaborator who can work dynamically and flexibly across a small team.
